Fabric Manipulation Board two

This is my second fabric manipulation board which relates to the drawing boards. The first fabric piece is a simple lightweight denim fabric with a geometric hand embroidered pattern. The second is a sheer fabric which is is pleated to create pattern and has fabric bondawebbed into sections. The last is similar to a sample of the previous board, with cut outs revealing the underneath fabric.

Fabric Manipulation Board

Sticking to the colour palette I had researched for my theme and using my drawings as inspiration I made up fabric manipulations samples which are shown on this board. All of these samples are stick to the geometric feel which was shown in my drawings. The top sample is cut out and reveals a contrasting fabric and also features some hand sewing as detail.  The second I bound the triangles and sewed them together so they were overlapping and connecting. The last I used bondaweb to stick down pieces of fabric to create a mosaic look.

Drawing Board two

Here is another drawing board again showing source and original drawings of objects i had sourced myself to fit my theme 'Future Folk'. The wooden jewellery drawn sticks to the handmade and traditional feel i have to my theme and they like the other drawing board give off a geometric vibe and the idea of repetition. In these drawings i have used pencil and fine liner on tracing and cartridge paper as well as overlaying drawings and using collage.

Drawing Board

This is one of my drawing boards for my concept garment class. The idea of this board is to show woven elements which  are shown with a beaded bracelet and a woven wooden ball. This then went onto give me ideas for my fabric manipulation samples and final two concepts. It started me off to think about the idea of being connected, intertwined, geometric and to have cut out elements. On the board you see different source collated with drawing produced on tracing, sugar and cartridge paper and envelopes using black and coloured fine liner as well as pencil.
